I had my first on-stage comedy performance when I was 13 years old, at the school talent show surrounded by my peers. I must have done well because it still gets brought up two decades later. Then, at age 14 my guidance counselor told me that I needed to pick a more "attainable" profession.
So I settled on radio, saddled myself with student loan debt and went forth to a career that would last a little over a decade. Across several markets I hosted News/Talk Shows, won a couple awards, and even ran a few stations myself. I met celeberities of all manner and spent time with some of the most influential politicians of the time. Through radio I learned the art of story telling and finding the truth. After that its a mish-mosh of factory jobs, animal control, and forklift certifications. Also, an OSHA 30 card for the kinky stuff.
It took until my 30's to once again explore my love for comedy, and doing so has been the thrill of a lifetime.
I hope that my voice is one that people can relate to and understand. My goal is to explore the things that make us uncomfortable, but bind us together, through shared experience and a lot of sarcasm. Sure, every comedian loves to make people laugh...but my goal is to make people think; much like the free thinkers before me.
Truth is an overlying theme for my comedy. Not just being truthful, but being able to identify it, and when to point and laugh. My comedy inspirations include George Carlin, Lewis Black, Patton Oswalt, and Red Skelton. Not to be forgotten is Kermit the Frog, an idol that stands alone in my mind.
Hope we get a chance to laugh together soon!
